Mia Mason's character in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen production, didn't bring about the outcomes. Southland is a critically-acclaimed series of police dramas which featured Liu in recurring roles, helped her reestablish her as an actress. Liu chooses her roles carefully so that she doesn't get stereotyped within an industry where competition is fierce. Although she is adamant about her heritage, it hasn't limited her in her professional work being an artist.
