
Pichai Sundararajan better known as Sundar Picha, is an Indian-American business executive. [6] He serves as the chief executive officer (CEO), of Alphabet Inc.'s subsidiary Google. Born in Madurai, India.[4] Pichai graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in metallurgical engineer. He obtained an M.S. in the United States following his move to the United States. He graduated with a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University. He also obtained an MBA from Wharton School of Pennsylvania. After a brief stint with McKinsey and Co. as an expert in management consulting, Pichai was hired by Google in 2004 to lead the innovation and management of products for various Google's client products. These comprised ChromeOS as well as ChromeOS. He also ran Google Drive. In addition Pichai was able to supervise the development of various other applications such as Gmail as well as Google Maps. Pichai announced WebM in 2010, and also announced open-sourcing the latest codec to play video by Google. 2012 saw the debut of Chromebook. Pichai, who oversaw the launch of Android in 2012, also added Android to the list of Google products.
