Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez, born Rosa Maria Perez 7 September 1964, is an American choreographer and actress. Her breakout moment came from her portrayal of Tina in the film Do the Right Thing (1989), which was followed by White Men Can't Jump (1992). Her performance as Tina in Fearless (1993), earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Perez has starred in many films since the time, including It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado ((2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2021). She was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, one for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another for her character in The Flight Attendant (2020-2021). She has also appeared in Broadway plays, such as The Ritz and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. She was also the co-host of the 18th season of ABC's talk show The View. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. In 1999 her mother was in poverty at the Woodside Houses, when she died from complications of AIDS.
